The Palm Springs Planning Commission approved a 172,785-square-foot cannabis facility north of the Interstate 10 in Palm Springs on Wednesday night.
The facility will be located on a 10-acre site along the north side of 19th Avenue and west of the Indigo Power Plant in the city’s cannabis overlay zone, which is located north of the I-10 and intended to facilitate the development of cannabis facilities away from established neighborhoods.
Operations at the facility will include cannabis cultivation, processing and distribution. The Planning Commission voted 4-0 to approve Project Indigo’s application for a conditional use permit. Commissioners Peter Moruzzi and Charlie Erwin Jr. were not present for Wednesday’s meeting.
The facility will be built in two phases. Phase 1 will be a 61,833-square foot greenhouse and will include 10 nursey areas, a cultivation processing area, a post-harvest processing area, administrative offices and employee facilities. Phase 2 will add 110,952 square feet to the greenhouse.
