Desert Pacific Properties is pleased to announce that the pharmaceutical research company, Royal Emerald Pharmaceuticals will be relocating their operations to Desert Hot Springs. Royal Emerald Pharmaceuticals has signed a lease with the option to purchase the Kmart building at the corner of Palm Drive and Two Bunch Palms Trail.  The company has also acquired additional land next to  the building and is budgeting $15 million to build.  Phase 2 will be up to 3 million square feet of office and manufacturing space. The entire facility and campus will utilize the latest technology in cogeneration to produce energy-efficient and environmentally friendly buildings.

This project will bring up to 100 job opportunities to the desert starting late summer 2020. The management team will be relocating from San Diego. Royal Emerald Pharmaceuticals currently contracts with the federal government and is the only commercial company with a cannabinoid-related GSA license. The facility will supplement specific Government research contracts and has been designed so that it can quickly increase capacity and production incrementally, according to demand.

Company founder, Mark Crozier, shared in a statement, “It is our mission to alleviate the impacts of PTSD and other health consequences veterans and first responders experience by creating safe and effective medicines. We acknowledge the Coachella Valley and especially the residents of Desert Hot Springs as the type of talent needed in order to succeed in our company’s mission,” he said. “We are excited to facilitate the growth of the local community.”
